Ronceverte offers a variety of festivals and events held throughout the year.
The Ronceverte River Festival is held every June at the Ronceverte Island Park. The River Festival offers parades, venders, rides and free concerts at the amphitheater, and fire works. The three day event culminates with the famous Rubber Duck Race on the Greenbrier River. To find out more about the Ronceverte River Festival, visit their website at www.ronceverteriverfestival.com.
Riders of the Flood Outdoor Drama is held every first and second Thursday, Friday and Saturday of September at the Island Park Amphitheater. West Virginia’s newest outdoor drama, the Riders of the Flood highlights Ronceverte’s important timber history. The success of this outdoor drama was expanded with the sequel “Big Dreams….Restless Spirits” which opened in 2007. This local production is quickly gaining in popularity and provides a family oriented theater event based on Ronceverte’s remarkable place in West Virginia’s Lumber and Commercial history. Since 1926, the Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department has hosted the Annual Christmas Parade the first Monday evening in December. The parade is the largest in the area and kicks off the holiday season. The Ronceverte Fire Department oversees the annual Christmas Stocking distribution every Christmas eve at the depot. An area tradition, more than 1,500 stocking are given out to children.
